Health Coach Diaries: A Day of Balancing It All with Coach Becky 💪🌿
Ever wondered what a day in the life of a health coach really looks like? Spoiler alert: it’s not always sunshine & butterflies. Being a coach, mentor, and advocate for holistic wellness means balancing the demands of my own health journey while guiding others toward their goals. It’s a constant juggle between self-care, client support, and making space for real life to happen.
From sunrise rituals and meal prepping to mindset work and client calls, each day brings its own set of challenges and victories. Whether it’s finding time to get in my own workout or helping a client break through a plateau, I’m all about showing up consistently, practicing self-love, and keeping a growth mindset.
Today, I’m inviting you to see what a typical day of balancing it all really looks like. The journey isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it—and I hope this series inspires you to keep pushing forward, no matter where you’re at in your own health journey.
Let’s dive into a day...
Consistent Focus on Sleep & Recovery
Starting with sleep from last night—which I expected to be slightly off due to incorporating exercise again. My body is good at adapting and overcoming, so I anticipate a quick recovery of the scores. My readiness score was an 83, but the deeper metrics were impressive: my RHR was still only 50 bpm, and my HRV went drastically up to 87 ms! The sleep score was the one affecting the overall scores, as it was only a 74. I kept my wake-up time consistent, getting up at 6:15 am.
Morning Rituals to Kickstart the Day
The morning started off pretty typically. I got ready with my red light salt lamp, setting a calm and grounded tone. I moved to the kitchen, also lit with a red light and salt lamp since it was still before sunrise. I prepared my family’s lunch and started my own day with hydrogen water and Shilajit to boost hydration after a night’s sleep and jumpstart mitochondrial support.
At 6:45 am, I went outside to do chores and get some grounding time—harnessing nature’s free energy while being present and listening to the birds around me. At 7:00 am, I fueled up with my first meal of protein and fats: 33 grams of protein from my prepped sausages and L. Reuteri yogurt. I spent a few minutes dragging a couple more branches to the dump and then got ready for work at 7:30 am.
At 8:00 am, the kids had their breakfast, and we briefly sky-gazed for some UVA light exposure. It was still too chilly for them to spend much time outside, so we headed back in. I took the opportunity to switch a load of laundry while they played freely.
Midday Moments
11:30 am: After some outdoor playtime, I made lunch for the kiddos and reheated my prepped Spanish Cauliflower Rice with turkey—42 grams of protein! During midday, I took a quick walk out to get the mail barefoot, recharging with the earth’s energy while also soaking up some UVB light benefits.
Evening Energy & Movement
5:15 pm: Work wrapped up for the day, so I hit the dungeon for some quick sprinting intervals—1 minute at 3.2 mph followed by 1 minute at 7 mph for a total of 1 mile.
6:00 pm: Reheated some leftover meatballs and green beans with garlic butter (30 grams of protein) in the air fryer for dinner.
6:30 pm: Time to work in the office—hosting the BNC Community meeting focused on intuitive steps and foundational practices, followed by a coaching session.
7:00 pm: Wrapped up as a coach for the night!
To close out the day, I went out to catch the sunset and signed off the computer—time to wind down and have a Happy Wednesday, if you know what I mean! 😉
