One of the wildest parts of healing is realizing your body often knows the truth long before your mind is ready to admit it. We spend years overriding signals, pushing through discomfort, explaining away red flags, and calling it “being strong.” But strength is not pushing past your limit’s strength is finally listening to them.
What June has been teaching me and maybe it is teaching you too is that your body is always telling the truth. Even when you do not want to hear it. Even when the truth is inconvenient. Even when it asks you to change things you have been avoiding. Healing is not just emotional work; it is physical honesty.
Your body speaks in tension. In exhaustion. In the way your chest tightens around certain people. In the way, your energy drops after certain conversations. In the way you suddenly feel lighter when you walk away from something that was quietly draining you. Your body is not dramatic. It is not overreacting. It is not “too sensitive.” It is communicating.
And when you are actually healing not performing healing, not reading about healing, but in it you start noticing these signals in real time. You start catching the moment your stomach drops. You start recognizing the difference between peace and numbness. You start realizing that the things you used to tolerate were never neutral; they were costing you.
Healing feels like your body finally getting a vote.
It feels like pausing before you say yes. It feels like noticing the urge to overexplain and choosing not to. It feels like walking away from conversations that leave you dysregulated. It feels like honoring the part of you that whispers, “This doesn’t feel right,” even when your mind tries to negotiate.
And here is the part that surprises people: when you start listening to your body, your life starts rearranging . Not because you are being dramatic, but because you are finally being honest. You stop forcing connections that do not feel safe. You stop participating in dynamics that drain you. You stop pretending you are okay when your body is screaming for rest, space, or truth.
This is the moment when healing becomes real when your body becomes the guide instead of the enemy.
